Wonder Woman Design by CallMePo Wonder Woman Design by CallMePo
I am going to be a little hypocritical here (I am still a fan of the classic outfit), but since they wanted to make the DC reboot heroes wear more up-to-date and practical outfits, the new Wonder Woman outfit is a definitely a fail.

You can see her new costume here [link]

While I don't entirely hate the Wonder Woman costume for the DC reboot - I don't mind the pants - I do dislike how inconsistent they are with the designs. C'mon, they even gave the invincible Superman armor and they still give her a bodice for her breasts to pop out of?

Diana should look like a greek warrior - and warriors do not "pop out" when held upside down.

I also hated the tiny tiara, collar and bracelets. I was "this close" to giving her himantes to protect her fists when fighting... but settled on just making her braces bigger to deflect bullets.

The leather straps were also added to make her look more like a warrior.

I even kept her in matching style with the rest of the team and gave her a high collar.

This looks more like something Wonder Girl would wear.

They did try to make Wonder Woman have a up-to-date and practical outfit, they gave her a leather jacket and pants and EVERYONE hated it. The new one is a mix of classic shape with a new/fresh design.

I disagree with the straps, they don't make her look like a warrior, they look more like they she's into some BDSM.

I don't know what I have against the silver in Wonder Woman's new design, but it makes her feel a little cold. I'm glad you bring the gold back again. I don't know, after so many years of gold, suddenly changing to silver seems a little random. If the argument is that her bracelets seem out of place, then I would say it is supposed to be so, since they are a forced reminder of a past they would rather forget.

If anything, it just takes some time getting used to this new design. The high collar made me think of Cassandra!Wonder Girl, for some reason, but again, I'm just used to seeing Wondy's bare collar. Beside, Superman has a high collar, and I can't get used to that. Nor the lack of red underpants (too much blue now, I feel). :/

I also don't understand why Superman gets armor; he is pretty involnerable, so maybe it is made to resist Kryptonite? :/

I love everything about this except for the leather straps. I could dig the wrapped strap look if it was her lasso, however. Sorta like she just flings it around her and it magically stays etc.

I wonder if people would be adverse to wonder woman getting a new color set. I know they recently dropped the gold for silver, but I'm wondering if maybe 2 tone colors would work better for her.

Ahh, this is nice. The contortions one has to go through, just to find art of Wonder Woman in a proper fighting stance...

I really like this design. My beef with Wonder Woman's classic costume is that it kind of guarantees that Hollywood won't give her a movie, because to be frank, the costume looks silly in live action. So, I like this. Everything touch-up you mentioned in the description I agree with. The one thing I might have changed is, I might have made her shirt cover her shoulders. No reason, it's just me.

I've seen a lot of different revamped costumes for Wonder Woman, and your is one of my favorites thus far. While skinny jeans - in reality - are more trouble than they are worth, your design is definitely the most... acrobatic. The design shows that she is going to be running around, like a super hero does. The outfit makes sense, looks good, and is functional to boot! Personally, I really love the high collar. This is a great redesign!

This brought me here.

I normally prefer the "bathing suit" design of Wonder Woman costume, or at least have no problem with it. She's super-tough, comes from a culture with more libertine ideas about body images and nudity, and can wear whatever the hell she wants. Most redesigns I've seen of her with pants have been uninteresting, uninspired, or downright bad.

That said, his is the first time I've ever LIKED a Wonder Woman redesign where she wears pants. Kudos.

Great re-design for sure although I'm not particularly liking the leather straps you have going on there. They seems somewhat out of place with the attire. But awesome redesign!! So much BETTER than the crappy one DC threw at us.

As simple as this is, this is one of the best Wonder Woman costume redesigns I've seen. She doesn't look like an American flag. Although I wish the eagle was there somewhere. But still, great job!

"Diana should look like a greek warrior - and warriors do not "pop out" when held upside down. "

AMEN! And what warrior would seriously run around in high-heeled boots wearing next-to-nothing? That's my biggest gripe about her creators ... she is obviously relegated to the 'nice to look at but not a true superhero' ... she's just eyecandy for the others.

Let's see the rest of the Justice League in lingerie or next-to-nothing as well and see how well they can fight crime! Great image ... thanks for sharing!

Very nice, Po!
Reason #4,987,765 why Jim Lee is a HACK.
See, this what you get when you ask a talented artist, like Po, "We want a new WW design that's more practical than her original one, yet evocative of it, one that covers her, but is still attractive."

On the other hand: I know she is "a Warrior-by-training", but we are talking about a superhero, here. Armoring her too much would look as ridiculous as her current "Texas streetwalker" look.

Again, very nice design!

I agree with you (altough maybe they tone Supe's powers) but yeah she a freaking warrior for pete's sake her wardrobe should be something a Greek warrior would wear not just an excuse to cover her bikini area :P

great job there :)

I completely agree. I just have feminist issues with Wonder Woman being barely dressed for combat, whereas all the superhero males wear full tights or armor. The Hulk is an exception since he loses most of his clothes when he transforms, but he appears to be rather bullet-proof, so doesn't require armor.

I know she has her magic bracelets, which one could argue takes the place of armor, but the corset thing with the boobs bouncing around has always bothered me. Good discussion! :-)

I like your design (it's way superior to Lee's) and the way you keep the tiara and the bracelets close to the original. Sadly, the horrid pervert in me would rather see Wonder Woman wearing nothing but her tiara and her bracelets...
