I'm only just now getting into Marvel and DC. Was never a big comic fan as a teen or anything. Now I have a couple Dark Tower books, a Batman, a Batgirl collection, not to mention two big Red Sonja collections and Walking Dead #1.
What would I say is my favorite side? Marvel has just inundated the movies with their characters, but...it's hard to say. I love Batman, is all I know.
Keeping fingers crossed, but, considering what DC has done to screw up so many fan fave characters already with the New 52, particularly those of the feminine persuasion, Big B's return may not be a positive thing.
I'm *terrified* of what they'd do to Big Barda. Looking at what's happened to the likes of Catwoman, Starfire and Amanda Waller, I'm gonna guess that Barda will be all of 5'10, no musculature at all but gigantic tits, who's "strong for a woman from Apokalyps" but Damian Wayne could kick the snot out of her.
Isn't the current Justice League arc supposed to be a flashback story of some kind? If so, then it's revisiting the premiere of the New Gods rather than their return. Either way though, it'd be nice if they do come back.
God, I hope NOT! The "new" DC is going to ruin her! Big Barda is BIG, strong, sexy, and has a personality! I don't want to see her "fixed" like they did with Batgirl and Power Girl... or worse, Starfire and Catwoman...
It's possible--I believe Morrison has said in the past that there is a New Gods issue in his upcoming Multiversity project, and there's rumors of Ben Caldwell of Wednesday Comics' Wonder Woman fame doing an OGN about them.
One could hope but, knowing DC's policy to fuck up a good thing, I've got the feeling that Big Barda may suffer the same fate as Powergirl and other female characters. I.E. Giving a bland body-type with a shitty costume and having her character turned into something she isn't.
So my question is "when the fuck are we gonna stop talking about the problem, nut up, and kill the cancerous three stooges of DC before they wipe their asses with the rest of the DCU?"
I'm sorry to go off topic and keep whipping a dead horse. But if we're ever going to end this gaudy nightmare, we need to tell them we've had enough of this. We want our old DCU back! We want better storytelling and not forced compromise and shock value gimmicks! We want costumes that don't look like Jackson Pollock drew them! And we want Dan Didio to french kiss a loaded shotgun, have someone cut his mangled head off, and turn it into a pencil holder!
