I wonder how many people might have a use for it's power
though on second thought, it might have a demoralizing effect...
Seriously, one minute you're a guy, and the next, you're a girl. Your center of gravity is completely off, you have a sudden rush of hormones and emotions that you've never experience before and don't know how to handle, your clothes are too big/small for you and cause you to trip up, etc. Plus, if you're from an alien race, your species' genders might be weaker or stronger than the other, and they may have a different status in your society that inhibits your plans post-transformation.
What comes across as a weak ability at first becomes a Hell of a lot formidable when you think about it and become creative in how you apply it as a hero. And that's what the story is about, heroes with powers considered less than optimal for being a superhero, who managed to band together and prove they can be just as good as the "big dogs."
So is switching gender all Tiresias can do, or is clairvoyance another one of her powers?
